Finger Lakes Chorale Seeks Singers for August Concerts

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (May 27, 2009) - The Finger Lakes Chorale of Finger Lakes Community College, under the direction of Dennis Maxfield, is seeking additional members ages 15 and above for two concerts, August 15 and 16.  The Chorale will perform songs of the ‘60s and ‘70s, including a Beatles tribute and two Motown arrangements with music of the Supremes and Temptations, as well as music of the Mamas and Papas, the Turtles, and the Beach Boys. Exporter’s Seminar to be Held at FLCC

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (May 21, 2009) - Finger Lakes Community College, in conjunction with the Ontario County Office of Economic Development, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Upstate District Export Council, and Goodwin International Consulting, will host an Exporter’s Seminar on Thursday, June 25, from 8:30 a.m. to noon in room B-440 of the FLCC Canandaigua campus. Three FLCC Students Receive SUNY Chancellor’s Award

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (May 13, 2009) - Three Finger Lakes Community College students recently received the State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence at a recognition ceremony in Albany. The FLCC award recipients were Deborah Cooley of Canandaigua, Lindsey Hudson of Bloomfield, and Bohdan Krop of Stanley. Read more

FLCC to Unveil New Logo at 41st Annual Commencement Ceremony May 16

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (May 13, 2009) - Finger Lakes Community College will host its Forty-first Annual Commencement Ceremony Saturday, May 16, at 2 p.m. in the Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center (CMAC) located on the FLCC Canandaigua campus, 4355 Lakeshore Drive. The new college logo and tagline will be prominently displayed at the ceremony. A reception will follow the ceremony. Tickets are not required; admission is free, and friends and family members are encouraged to attend. Read more

FLCC Student Katelyn Withey Receives Prestigious Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (May 12, 2009) - Finger Lakes Community College student Katelyn Withey of Marion, was named a 2009 Barry M. Goldwater scholar. Withey, a biotechnology sophomore at FLCC, is the only community college student nationwide to be awarded this scholarship. Read more
