FLCC Woodsmen Teams Competed in the 27th Annual Loggersports Competition
Canandaigua, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College men’s and women’s woodsmen teams participated in the 27th Annual Loggersports Competition at Sir Sanford Fleming College on Saturday, Nov. 7. Thirty-six teams from 12 colleges and universities from Northeastern North America participated.
The Finger Lakes men’s team placed third out of 22 teams, ahead of Nova Scotia Agricultural College, Fleming College, McGill University, Pennsylvania State University, Syracuse Environmental Science and Forestry, and the University of Toronto with a score of 1,057 points. The University of New Brunswick placed first in the men’s division with a score of 1,236 points. Paul Smith’s College placed second with 1,100 points. Read more
FLCC Announces Spring 2009 Dean’s List
Canandaigua, N.Y. (June 11, 2009) - Finger Lakes Community College’s Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Thomas E. Topping recently announced the FLCC dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester. Six hundred ninety-five full- and part-time students received this honor. Read more
FLCC Names Jewett Distinguished Alumnus
Canandaigua, N.Y. (June 10, 2009) – Finger Lakes Community College recently selected Dave Jewett (‘89) of Pittsford to receive the 2009 Distinguished Alumni Award. This award recognizes the accomplishments, service, and personal spirit of FLCC alumni. Jewett was recently honored at the FLCC Alumni Awards Celebration. Read more
Finger Lakes Community College Announces the Fall 2009 Gemini Scholarship Program Recipients
Canandaigua, N.Y. (June 10, 2009) – The Finger Lakes Community College Gemini Scholarship Program recognizes the academic achievements of high school seniors who are earning FLCC college credit while attending high school by participating in the Gemini Program. Recipients must reside in Ontario, Seneca, Wayne or Yates counties and maintain a minimum high school grade point average of 80 percent or above in order to be considered for the scholarship. Each student will receive one half the cost of full-time FLCC tuition for one year. Read more

Three FLCC Students Receive SUNY Chancellor’s Award
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (May 13, 2009) - Three Finger Lakes Community College students recently received the State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence at a recognition ceremony in Albany. FLCC to Unveil New Logo at 41st Annual Commencement Ceremony May 16
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (May 13, 2009) - Finger Lakes Community College will host its Forty-first Annual Commencement Ceremony Saturday, May 16, at 2 p.m. in the Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center (CMAC) located on the FLCC Canandaigua campus, 4355 Lakeshore Drive. The new college logo and tagline will be prominently displayed at the ceremony. A reception will follow the ceremony. Tickets are not required; admission is free, and friends and family members are encouraged to attend. Read more
FLCC Student Katelyn Withey Receives Prestigious Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (May 12, 2009) - Finger Lakes Community College student Katelyn Withey of Marion, was named a 2009 Barry M. Goldwater scholar. Withey, a biotechnology sophomore at FLCC, is the only community college student nationwide to be awarded this scholarship. Read more
FLCC Woodsmen Teams Compete in 63rd Annual Woodsmen’s Weekend
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (April 30, 2009) – The Finger Lakes Community College men’s and women’s woodsmen teams competed in the 63rd annual woodsmen’s weekend hosted by Dartmouth College in New Hampshire last weekend. Out of twenty nine teams from New York, New England and Canada, the Finger Lakes men’s team placed second overall with a score of 1600 points, 48 points behind Paul Smiths College men’s team. FLCC Students Received as Guests of Honor in Rennes, France
CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (April 23, 2009) - A group of Finger Lakes Community College students, accompanied by FLCC Associate Professor of Modern Languages, Barbara Kruger of Penfield, were featured in the March 17 issue of Ouest-France newspaper after being received by the Deputy Mayor of Rennes as guests of honor at the Rennes City Hall last month. This event was the kick-off of an exchange program established this year between the Catholic Institute of Rennes, a private university in Rennes, France, and FLCC. Read more
