FLCC MUSICIANS TO GIVE HOLIDAY, JAZZ CONCERTS

Canandaigua, N.Y. (Nov. 18, 2009) - Singers and musicians based at Finger Lakes Community College will give seven performances, a mix of holiday and jazz concerts, in December.

 All concerts are free and open to the public.

 “Holiday Treasures” will be shared by the Camerata, a vocal group comprised of 24 to 28 students and semi-professional singers from Canandaigua and neighboring communities, including Bloomfield, Clifton Springs, Geneva, Ionia, Manchester, Shortsville and Waterloo. Dennis Maxfield directs the Camerata with Anthony D’Agostino accompanying on the keyboard.

The Camerata concerts will be held:

Saturday, Dec. 5 at 3 p.m. at the Farmington Friends Church, 187 County Road 8, Farmington

Sunday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. at St. Francis Church, 12 Church St., Phelps Read more

Finger Lakes Chorale Seeks Singers for August Concerts

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (May 27, 2009) - The Finger Lakes Chorale of Finger Lakes Community College, under the direction of Dennis Maxfield, is seeking additional members ages 15 and above for two concerts, August 15 and 16.  The Chorale will perform songs of the ‘60s and ‘70s, including a Beatles tribute and two Motown arrangements with music of the Supremes and Temptations, as well as music of the Mamas and Papas, the Turtles, and the Beach Boys. Finger Lakes Choral Groups to Perform May 8 and 9

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (April 23, 2009) - Finger Lakes choral groups of Finger Lakes Community College will offer two concerts in May.  Presenting music of Rutter, Vaughan Williams and others, the groups will perform May 8 at 7:30 p.m. and May 9 at 3:00 p.m.  Both performances will take place at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 183 North Main St., Canandaigua.  Read more

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (April 20, 2009) - The Finger Lakes Community College Department of Visual and Performing Arts presents the 29th annual Spring Arts Festival on Friday, May 1, beginning at 7 p.m. This free event will begin in Room B355/Music Hall, FLCC Canandaigua campus, 4355 Lakeshore Drive. FLCC Hosts First “Earth Daze” Event

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (April 7, 2009) - Finger Lakes Community College will host its first “Earth Daze” event on April 22 and 23 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.  The two-day event will begin on the official Earth Day and will include a garage sale, plant sale, electronics recycling drive, garbage assessment and a variety of other student sponsored activities.  Read more

Finger Lakes Camerata to Perform March 28 and 29

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (March 18, 2009) – Finger Lakes Camerata will present “Slices of Americana” on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church, 100 North Main Street, Canandaigua, at 7:30p.m. The concert will also take place at the Penn Yan United Methodist Church, Penn Yan, on Sunday, March 29 at 3:00 p.m.
